The Tortoise Village - Tortoises come from captivity The Tortoise village is located in a typical Provencal scrubland area characterized by green oaks and cork oaks, rosemary and lavender... It covers about 3 hectares and shelters more 1500 tortoises. You can discover how we take care of these animals, how we feed, breed and protect them. Tortoises are fed in the morning around 9h30. During summertime, it is easier to observe them in the morning or late afternoon as temperature is cooler than around noon. The visit includes different |
The Tortoise Village - Hermann Tortoise pathways and resting sites. You can see: the tortoise clinic, pens with local and exotic tortoises and ponds with indigenous turtles, hatching pens, nurseries, enclosures with subadults... Two giant tortoise models allow you to learn about reproduction and internal organs. Movies and sound systems give information and advices. Do not miss our shop and refreshment bar! |
